Freshman Celena Guerrero sets a new school record in route to her first victory as a high school runner. Celena's time of 19:41 surpassed the old record 19:48 set by Kelsey Sopko in 2008. The individual title is impressive considering the meet featured state ranked teams Portage and Lake Central as well as perennial power Munster. Notable performances were also turned in by Mindy Whidden (9) as she dropped 2:15 to finish in 23:03 in just her second cross country meet. Christina Bredwell (11) matched her 3rd best finish ever and finished 3rd on the team in 25:01. The girls placed 7th overall in the 13 team field within striking distance of conference rivals Lowell and Highland.
